This safari tour gives you the best of both worlds. You get to visit Zimbabwe's largest national park and the home to the "Big 5" and at the same time explore the world's largest waterfall and also one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls also known as " Mosi Oa Tunya" which means "The Smoke That Thunders " in the local language.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival In Victoria Falls and Transfer To Hwange National Park
You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport. From there you are transferred by road to Robins Camp, your lodge in Hwange National Park. It's a two-hour in an air-conditioned minivan. The camp is named after Herbert George Robins. Robins Camp area was originally ‘Little Toms’ and ‘Big Toms’ farms. The farms were acquired by H.G. Robins in the early 1900’s. He also acquired another farm and finally had some 26,000 acres of land. He put a stop to shooting and took active steps to stop poaching on his land, which had been a hunting ground because of the large variety and number of games and developed a large private zoological park. A government gazette issued on 24th February 1928 announced that 14,600 sq. km of land was to be established as Wankie Game Reserve now Hwange National Park. When you get to the lodge you will refresh and relax after a long journey. You will have your delicious dinner and rest surrounded by African wilderness sounds.

Day 2: Indulge in Safari
After a hearty breakfast you will start your first safari activity with a morning dame drive. With over 100 species present, Hwange has the widest variety of mammals of any national park in the world. It also has one of the largest elephant populations. There are 20,000 to 70,000 individuals that congregate around the waterholes toward the end of the Dry season. The park has an impressive variety of antelope, including some of the unusual species such as sable antelope and greater kudu. You will return to camp by midday for a rest and lunch will be served. In the afternoon you will choose between an afternoon game drive and a guided safari walk which will bring you closer to nature. After an eventful day of exploration you will return to camp by sunset to a delicious dinner then you relax the rest of the evening.

Day 3: Transfer to Victoria Falls
You will start your day with an early morning game drive which gives you a chance to see some nocturnal animals as they retire to bed. You will return to camp in time for your full breakfast and thereafter it will be time to pack and leave for Victoria Falls by mid day. Lunch will be on your own account. In the evening you will be picked from your lodge and be transferred to an afrocentric dinner fused with an African Drumshow. Its called the "Boma Dinner" The four-course feast begins with a shared starter platter followed by soup from the campfire, a selection of salads and vegetarian dishes, a braai (barbecue) buffet featuring game meats and stews, and an array of desserts and non-stop entertainment culminating in an interactive drumming show combine to make this a “must do” Victoria Falls experience. You will then retire to your lodge.

Day 4: The Smoke That Thunders
You will have your breakfast then its time to come face to face with the mighty Victoria Falls, you will enjoy a guided tour of the waterfall with our experienced and knowledgeable guide who will take you through the 16 viewing points a walk stretching 1700metres. You may need a rain jacket if you don't want to get soaked and definitely a waterproof bag for your cameras and phones. After the tour of the waterfall you may want to have an optional helicopter flip over the falls to have a complete perspective. There are also a lot other optional activities you may book to fill up your day Lunch will be on your own account. You will wind up your day with a luxury sunset cruise on the Zambezi, upriver from the waterfall where you will enjoy beautiful African sunset while sipping some exotic cocktails, you may see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birds. Soon after the 2hour cruise you will be served with a 3 course dinner on the river bank before being taken back to the lodge.

Day 5: Good Bye Victoria Falls

Frequently asked questions about Victoria Falls
Zimbabwe or Zambia: which is better for visiting?
Zimbabwe for the classic falls views and established tourism infrastructure. Zambia for Devil’s Pool, a more relaxed town atmosphere and Mosi-oa-Tunya rhino. Most serious visitors cross both borders on the same day (the bridge crossing is simple with the right visas).
Do you need a visa for both Zimbabwe and Zambia?
A KAZA Univisa (USD 50) covers both countries for 30 days and is the best option for travellers crossing the bridge. Buy online or on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport or Livingstone Airport.
Is it safe to visit Victoria Falls?
The Victoria Falls area (both Zimbabwe and Zambia sides) is considered safe by regional standards. The Zimbabwe side has seen significantly improved security and visitor confidence since 2020. Exercise standard precautions with valuables.
