Day 00:
Arrival in Moshi
Location: Moshi Town
Activities: Airport pickup, climbing briefing, equipment inspection
Meals: Dinner
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi town. Meet your mountain guide for route briefing and final preparation before beginning the climb.
Day 01:
Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp
Elevation: 1,800m to 2,850m
Hiking Time: 5–7 Hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Drive to Umbwe Gate for registration before beginning the trek through dense rainforest. The trail climbs steeply toward Umbwe Cave Camp.
Day 02:
Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp
Elevation: 2,850m to 3,900m
Hiking Time: 4–6 Hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Continue climbing through heather and moorland zones with stunning views of valleys and towering cliffs before arriving at Barranco Camp beneath the famous Barranco Wall.
Day 03:
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Elevation: 3,900m to 4,035m
Hiking Time: 4–5 Hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Climb the Barranco Wall before crossing valleys and ridges toward Karanga Camp. This day offers excellent acclimatization and spectacular scenery.
Day 04:
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Elevation: 4,035m to 4,640m
Hiking Time: 3–4 Hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Ascend through alpine desert terrain toward Barafu Camp. Rest and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.
Day 05:
Summit Day & Descend to Mweka Camp
Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m to 3,100m
Hiking Time: 11–14 Hours
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Begin the summit climb shortly after midnight. Reach Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.
Day 06:
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Return to Moshi
Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m
Hiking Time: 4–5 Hours
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Descend through rainforest trails to Mweka Gate where climbers receive summit certificates before transfer back to Moshi town.
