Tanzanite Day Tour

On this day you will be picked up from your Hotel and head to Merelani for your Tanzanite tour. You will have a 1hr drive towards the Mererani area and start your tour. This tour will introduce you to the history of this magnificent mineral and other important information about the gemstone. The Merelani Tanzanite mines are where the blue Zoisite Tanzanite was first discovered in 1968 and are still mined both by the local and large-scale miners today.

You will descend down to the mine to explore how the mining process takes place, as you explore the machinery and spend time with the miners on site. Later you will leave the camp after your lunch and head to the Gemstone market in Arusha to see the final process of the gem. Then you will drive back to your hotel in Moshi for your drop off marking the end of your Tanzanite tour with us.
